The first clip of Lindsay's documentary for the BBC about child trafficking as made it's way online.

She sounds...kind of credible. I guess it's just good that the information about child trafficking is getting out there.

La Revue du vin de France, the most prestigious wine magazine in France, has awarded the "Special Award of the Year," its highest award, to Tadashi Agi and Shū Okimoto's Kami no Shizuku (Les Gouttes de Dieu/The Drops of God) wine manga on Thursday. The three creators ("Tadashi Agi" is a pen name for a sister/brother team) will receive the award in a ceremony in Paris on Tuesday. This is the first time that anyone from Japan has been honored with the 82-year-old magazine's highest award.

The manga, which has been running in Kodansha's Morning magazine since 2004, follows a young man's quest to identify the twelve wines described in his late father's will. The manga has been so popular in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan that sales of specific wines labels and years mentioned in the manga have spiked in Taiwan and other Asian countries. The manga sold 2 million copies in Korea in alone.

The second installment of Suntory’s highball whisky commercials featuring actress Koyuki, 33, has been uploaded onto YouTube, and this time the popular actress wears a splendid kimono as she gets into their fine whisky.

The first installment came out in July and featured Koyuki in a low-buttoned white top as she explains how to go about drinking a whisky highball. Since then, the YouTube version has been played over a million times.

Her latest commercial is expected to further her ever-increasing popularity. She wears a dark kimono complimented by a subtle floral motif.

Brittany Murphy's husband Simon Monjack struggles daily without his wife - and has considered killing himself since her sudden death last month, according to his mother.

The Clueless star, 32, died on 20 December after suffering a cardiac arrest at her Hollywood Hills home. She was laid to rest on Christmas Eve, but the cause of her death has been deferred pending toxicology results.

Monjack, who married the actress in 2007, is grief-stricken over his loss and often breaks down in tears, his mother Linda reveals.

She tells People.com, "Simon is exactly as you would expect someone to be who has just lost the woman he loved. Some days he wants to kill himself, and other days he seems to be coping better. He is distraught. I speak to him everyday, and he is often in tears."

Monjack's mother also opens up about her son's initial reaction to decline an autopsy on the star - revealing he didn't want his beloved wife "cut open".

Linda explains, "He didn't want the autopsy (in the beginning) for the reason that anybody wouldn't want his nearest and dearest to be cut open. He realised pretty quickly that he had to agree to it, and he's waiting for the results. He wants to know what happened."

Since Murphy's death, Monjack has formed a close bond with her mum, Sharon - and turns to her for comfort in his darkest moments.

Linda adds, "He's very strong, and he's got Sharon. They're very close, and they're keeping each other going. Simon's life has been shattered. He needs closure to be able to get on with it.

"They truly loved each other. I don't think they ever spent more than a few days apart. They were going to start a family this year."

And grieving Linda admits she will always cherish a conversation she had with Murphy and Monjack the day before her death: "Everything sounded normal and fine. It was a three-way conversation, with her laughing and talking to me in the background... She seemed in good spirits."

Conan O’Brien May Have Options at Fox
By BILL CARTER AND BRIAN STELTER

The future of NBC’s late-night plans may wind up in Conan O’Brien’s hands.

One day after NBC executives said privately that they were contemplating a plan to move Jay Leno back to 11:35 p.m., representatives of Mr O’Brien made it clear the comedian has not accepted NBC’s plan and was likely not to agree any time in the near future.

At the same time a new possibility may be emerging for Mr. O’Brien — at a rival network. The Fox network apparently wants Mr. O’Brien — and the public — to know that it thinks very highly of the late-night star.

“We’ve always been interested in late night and we’re always looking to bring great new talent to Fox. While Conan would be a great fit for Fox, he’s still under contract with NBC, so we’ll just see how all of this plays out,” said a Fox employee who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak on the record about the issue.

Several news organizations published similar comments Friday afternoon.

And one Fox executive amplified by saying a late-night show has always been at least loosely on the network’s agenda. “We love Conan,” the executive said.

Mr. Leno has already made an oblique reference to the possibility of an opening at Fox. On Thursday night, Mr. Leno joked in his monologue: “If we did get canceled, it will give us time to do some traveling. I understand that Fox is beautiful this time of year.”

Unlike Mr. Leno, Mr. O’Brien made no jokes Thursday night about the public speculation about both men’s late-night careers.

Lest Twilight fans worry that vampire-chic has lost its momentum, rest assured: with the 2010 release of Let Me In, blood is still the new black. The American remake of Let the Right One In, a Swedish coming-of-age tale about a young boy who befriends a young girl (who is actually an ancient vampire), joins a field already littered with creatures of the night. Taking over for the boy and the bloodsucker are 13-year-old Kodi Smit-McPhee and 12-year-old Chloë Moretz. McPhee, already an Australian Film Institute award winner for his role in 2007’s Romulus, My Father, appears next in this winter’s grueling, apocalyptic adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s The Road, scrounging for food and safety in a decimated landscape with Viggo Mortensen. The Australian, whose real father is also an actor, attends school when he’s home, but readily admits, “I like being different from the other kids.”

Moretz, who has appeared in (500) Days of Summer and the 2005 remake of The Amityville Horror — which, until recently, her parents wouldn’t let her watch — just filmed Matthew Vaughn’s ultra-violent Kick-Ass, about a boy who becomes a superhero. For that movie, the home-schooled Moretz, who plays Hit Girl, completed four months of martial arts training, learning to roll, flip and run up walls. She also learned to assemble and disassemble guns like an NRA lifer.

Moretz, who precociously insists, “I am mature but I’m still only 12,” thinks she’d like to be an actress for the rest of her life. If that doesn’t work out, however, she’s got her head in the clouds. “I would love to fly airplanes,” she says. “I think being a pilot would be really fun. Especially helicopters.”

AND I just started playing Haruhi, but since there's so much magic and stuff in the world she's getting really excited and no on from the brigade is there to share it with her, not to talk her down from all the awesomeness of so many people with magic and fairies and what not.

So If your interested in playing anyone from the S.O.S. Brigade please have a look around!

The CW has released the official description and stills from episode 12, Unpleasantville, airing January 28th. The stills feature all the usual actors from the TV show with the addition of Malese Jow as Anna and Sean Faris as Ben, the new bartender, in some 50's themed event. I'm assuming it is a school dance, or something.

E1 Music is excited to announce the release of The Avon Barksdale Story- Legends Of The Unwired – in March 2010. This gripping film won Best Docudrama at this year’s NY International Independent Film & Video Festival and reveals the raw truth about death, drugs, and violence in the streets of Baltimore, MD. In The Avon Barksdale Story, the real Nathan Avon “Bodie” Barksdale tells all to actor Wood Harris, who played his on screen character in HBO’s critically acclaimed series The Wire.

The Wire was based on the lives of real gangsters. The Avon Barksdale Story is the first to chronicle the actual lives of these real people. Barksdale’s real name, Nathan Avon Barksdale, and his nickname, “Bodie,” were both used in the series as composite characters. Avon Barksdale was The Wire’s first season’s central character. The storyline focused on the Barksdale clan and their ruthless hold on Baltimore’s underworld and the intense efforts of law enforcement to stop them. Barksdale was a real crime figure in Baltimore.

Barksdale says he consulted David Simon, the creator of The Wire, during the early filming of the highly successful mini-series. He says, “The Wire was one long commercial for this!

During the drug wars of the ‘80s, long before The Wire’s drug kingpin Avon Barksdale entered the mind of David Simon, a young man (named Nathan Avon “Bodie” Barksdale) was in the belly of one of the most violent neighborhoods on Baltimore’s Westside. The Lexington Terrace Projects was one of the most notorious areas in the city making it the perfect backdrop for HBO’s The Wire. But unlike David Simon, an admitted outsider, this story possesses the intimate detailing which can only come from an insider’s view. The real Barksdale brings the riveting fact-filled account of his world now known as The Avon Barksdale Story – Legends of the Unwired. A must see story for all true fans of The Wire!

Source of trailer and press release news

Granted the trailer is a little Smack TV/Killa Season straight to DVD, but Im intruiged to hear from this guy. We knew that all the stories were inspired from Simon's days as a reporter, but  It does make you wonder though: Are there more ACTUAL people from the Wire? Is or was there a Stringer Bell? A Jimmy McNulty? An Omar?! How bout a Brother Muzone?
And yes I meant The Wire when I said the Greatest Show on TV. Not any other overrated show. You think there's an actual flying telephone box or  an off the map island with a group experiment?....
